Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Our 1st time at this location. Although the Frank Pepe in New Havet Ct is better, this still deserves 5 stars. The pizza was crispy, cooked perfectly and tasted great. Opted for the sausage-hot cherry pepper and pepperoni cheese pizza. Both had plenty of toppings! The Cesar salad was fresh and also good. The establishment was very clean and the service was great. The booth seating is a bit tight but it worked.

Great location near a shopping center, free parking lot. Quick and professional service. The prices are comparable to Bertucci's, or a bit higher, but the quality is quite lower. The interior decor is not so pleasant or inviting. They do not serve free bread rolls. It seems they specialize in pizza but no options for pasta, calzone etc. And the pizza is thin, with the crust burnt. Overall- okay, average.

Picked up a pizza from Frank Pepe yesterday and was looking forward to trying it for the first time. Heared great things about the restaurant. I arrived briefly before closing and the staff had to ask if I can place my order while the restaurant was still open and the open sign was on. The manager informed the staff that yes I can place my order but it was annoying that he had to make me go through that. They must know that by now and not expose their clients to that. I ordered my pizza, paid added a generous tip even though it was a takeout because of the kitchen staff. So I got my pizza beautifully packaged and looks amazing and tastes as promised. But after I got to my destination I realized that I wasn't offered any napkins, or utensils that is customary for Frank Pepe pizzería to do and we needef them and our destination. I felt that the staff dropped the ball and you don't have to for such a small gesture which makes a difference at the end of the day. Still an amazing pizza. Got the white shrimp pizza. Give it an easy five stars.

I've been to the original Pepe's on Wooster Street and a few of their newer locations, and I feel like this place nailed it. I ordered a small tomato pie with mozzarella. Good charring, sweet fresh flavor in the sauce. I even picked it up late, so it had been sitting for more than half an hour and was still exactly right, and very New Haven.
